Several of my husband's friends were recently at a refugee camp, visiting people fleeing the civil war in South Sudan. As people try to escape the violence, they've been heading to islands on the Nile and then becoming stranded there, with no clean water or shelter. Many aid organizations, including Samaritan's Purse, are trying to do what they can to take care of the men, women and children on these islands.
They produced a short documentary on the incredible needs these refugees are facing, as well as the work that Samaritan's Purse is doing to help alleviate some of their problems. This doc is definitely worth a watch to get a better handle on why refugee aid organizations are so incredibly important around the world.
